This was a very busy session of the Indiana General Assembly.  The two major changes that will impact teacher preparation programs and teacher preparation candidates are listed below along with several other actions.

IACTE’s Executive Committee worked diligently to stay on top of each proposed bill related to teacher preparation. In addition, several members attended collaborative association meetings to learn more about legislative matters related to important bills impacting our membership.

IACTE Colleagues –

We currently have nine of our member institutions registered to participate in the IACTE Day at the Statehouse.  There still is time to send us names of candidates from your institution who might participate.  We would need information no later than the end of the day, Monday March 4.  This is a great opportunity for your candidates to talk with state legislators and promote our great profession of teaching.

Please forward to Jonathan Dee ( or myself the information requested here, should you plan to participate.

Thank you –
