Be There : IACTE Meeting on Nov. 11

Colleagues –

We have an upcoming IACTE meeting on Friday, November 11th.  This meeting will focus on Approaches to CAEP Standards as well as an update on Title II.  We will have colleagues share how they are approaching data collection for each of the five CAEP Standards.  It will be a very instructive session.  Please advise me of your plans to join no later than Monday, November 7.  The details for the meeting are below:

We had a most informative meeting at the University of Indianapolis on Friday, September 23rd.  Thanks to all of you who attended and contributed to the discussion.  For those who could not make it, we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.  Attached are the meeting notes.

IACTE Colleagues –

Another academic year has begun!  I do hope that the start of the semester is calming down, and that you are ready to see your colleagues from across the state.  The Executive Committee has put together the agenda for our first meeting of the new school year.  It is focused on the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the allowable use of associated funds.  Participating in the meeting will be Deb Koolbeck, the AACTE Government Relations Director and representatives from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).  Invitations also are being extended to our school partners in the state, including representatives from the teachers, principals, superintendents, and school board associations.  We expect to have a rich discussion.

Attached are two documents for you to review prior to the meeting.  These documents --  ESSA Allowable Use of Funds and Title II Overview -- will also be utilized during the afternoon table discussions.  Each member is asked to bring 1-2 innovative ideas that you would to share that your institution has participated in or would like to participate in if funding were available, including any ideas that have involved partner school districts.
